From the perspective of the Lao-tzu (Tao Te Ching), there is too much emphasis on human language, cognition, and intellect. We better admit to our anthropocentrism. Though we can observe and reflect upon existential problems intellectually, they can not be solved by the intellect.
Our problem-solving strategies are too much intellect focused. The whole narrative of the special status of human intellectual capabilities is in itself problematic. This permanent emphasis on our being special is a neurotic feature, and the insistence on the intellect is a skewed human story.
We need new storytellers again. We need to enter suitable forms of communication with our environments. We need to retrain our global language skills for integration. Our educational systems are ill-suited for this.
We need a new Enlightenment.
