We need to invest more time, energy, and money in and care more about (Natural) Intelligence. AI is a logical extension and result of what is called a 機心 “device / machine / instrument / technology driven and directed mind(set)” in chapter 12 (外篇 Outer Chapters), 天地 Heaven and Earth of the 莊子 Chuang-tzu, a book written and a topic discussed about 2,300 years ago. You find clear awareness of the dangers of such a technology-driven mindset path in this Chuang-tzu passage. Another very well-known translation was provided by Burton Watson in The Complete Works of Chuang Tzu (New York: Columbia University Press, 1968) who translates “機心” as “machine hearts.”
