Everything is connected. There is no inside or outside. We are all one being.
For many years now, my focus in practicing the Wing Chun forms and any of the other movement methods that I learned and have been practicing over the years, has been for the movements to lead the way. It was also the movements and the 老子 Tao Te Ching that taught me to take a broader view at patterns in the natural world.
I am inspired by the ways dolphins and whales find orientation, by how the surface of water reacts to the wind, or by my random observations of what I observe, listening and watching natural phenomena. I have been carefully listening to the echoes coming back from my bodymind as reactions to the endless repetitions of the movements of the forms I practice. I am trying to better understand and communicate with the different kinds and levels of environments I am embedded in. It is about exploring possibilities—possibilities to correspond and cooperate in better and more creative ways.
This is what languages and language proficiency are about. We debase human verbal language by placing it on a pedestal above all other languages. This is a pattern of authoritarian hierarchies. It does not do justice to human language. This does not help us—the encompassing us. This does not help us as human beings. It does not help us as practitioners of “internal” movement practices.

I am now listening in more complex ways. Practicing nei kung this way is about more profound ways of absorbing and communicating knowledge, 心傳, and about the wisdom of being itself—our words and concepts are not as ancient as the facts. And the facts can not be communicated by words—道可道非常道. Science poetry. The language of exploration is a creative act. It is an art form. Art is a social function. Art is a political act.

I am aware of the limitations of my personal methods and my own shortcomings, but I am also aware of my abilities. It is this special combination that motivates me to move and to explore.
